Last week I was doing laundry and when I went to put the clothes in the dryer they were very stinky. So, I washed them again. Didn't do a darn thing. I discovered that I had some very smelly dish rags in there (a little embarassing to say). While I was getting ready to wash them for the third time I was also talking to my very wise sister. She told me to put vinegar in the wash. It worked like a charm!! Now my rags smell fresh and clean!

I knew! I knew! :-) It's also really good for when you buy any sort of dark clothing (black, brown, red, burgandy, navy, green, etc).. put in about a cup with your first wash of your new item and it will NEVER fade.
Wow. I had no idea. I just washed a load twice the other day because it had a funky smell. Guess I should have called your sister first!
Yep, I've got a big thing of vinegar next to my washer. Great for moldy-smelling washcloths and towels.
Thanks for the suggestion! I've never used vinegar to remove smells before.
I do know that vinegar is also great for washing shower curtains when they get icky.
