Morning Drinks


So, I'm FINALLY losing weight. I've done a few different things, and just recently thought that I might try having a Slim-Fast in the morning. These drinks are NOT good. It took me like 45 minutes to drink one. It worked and I didn't feel hungry, but it was nasty. Now, I have a ton of these gross drinks in my pantry. This morning I put fruit in with it and mixed it up in my new blender and it helped a little. I could at least drink it without gagging.
I'd really like to have some kind of drink, or smoothie, or something in the morning. Anyone have any good recipes or good healthy breakfast ideas?

I really like the southwestern egg beaters. they are so good. i make a big batch of brown rice and make scrambled egg beaters and mix it all together and put some cheese on top. it is so yummy.

also, i like to make smoothies with the frozen fruit from wal-mart or costco, soy slender vanilla milk, a little bit of tang and dannon light and fit vanilla yogurt. it is so yummy!!!! The soy slender milk has like 70 cal or something. It is good.

I'm with you... Slim-Fast is pretty yucky!

I love the vanilla EAS shakes. I buy a big bag of powder mix at Costco for about $25. (It comes in chocolate too, but I hate chocolate-- but people that like chocolate say it's as good as the vanilla.)
Anyway, I put two scoops of the mix in my blender, 1 1/2 cups water, 1 cup crushed ice and 1 cup of frozen (or fresh) fruit-- like blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, etc.

It is delicious... and good for you too. EAS has very low carbs (way lower than Slim-Fast) and more proteins.

I drink Carnation Instant Breakfast every morning. I get my chocolate fix and I don't have to eat anything. I hate eating in the morning... when I run out of instant mix, I starve.

Tinker with some milk, fruit and yogurt. Keep in mind the calories you want to stay with in, and I bet you could make a nice little smoothie for yourself in the morning!

Sei uses the Whey protein mix from Walmart. Throw in a banana, ice and water. Wa-laa.

hhmmm, those are good ideas. R likes to drink slimfast, but he freezes it first and then drinks it really cold.

The Slim Fast POWDER is delicious. I mix the chocolate one with ice, milk and a banana. The vanilla mix is good with frozen berries, banana, and a little yogurt with milk and ice. Scrumptious!

I also like to make scrambled egg whites with whole wheat toast, a banana and some milk.

I drink a Lite Myoplex protein shake with a banana blended in every morning. It's filling and good for you (especially if you're lacking in protein, like me...I hate meat).
