Go Cougars!
50 Years
Fifty years ago today my dad came to the United States from France. He was very excited for this day and even went out to dinner to celebrate. I wish I could've been there to celebrate with him! My dad is an amazing man and a constant example to me. Love you Pops!!

Finally, a Good Pack Night!
I was having kind of a crazy day the other night; I was tired, the kids were cranky, DH was gone. I got the three younger ones all bathed and T was changed for scouts. I thought I was doing good, until I pulled into the parking lot and realized that it was pack night. So, we stayed, kids in jammies and all. I was actually glad we stayed because it ended up being a lot of fun. T's den sang a song about trains and the bear den did a skit. Then, we built train cars. It was interesting to see each persons take on their train car. Some kids used paint, others markers, one kid wrapped his in string (it was a ghost car), the girls put a feather boa on theirs. They all had a great time. Then, once all the cars were done they lined up and had races. The night was finished off with cookies!
I was glad that it was pack night and that it turned out to be so nice. It made my evening much better, and the kids behavior was much better too. T loves scouts and I'm so glad that things are getting better with the program.

Which Twilight Character Are You?
You're Bella Swan - You are intelligent and kind but not quite sure what you want out of life yet. You have a feeling there's something more out there for you. You're attracted to those who are real and avoid the fake. Sometimes you're a bit accident prone, but your true friends will always be loyal to you and come to your aid when you need it.

Hannah Marie
They finally decided that they needed to just relax and try not to think about it too much. Not too long after that they found out they were pregnant! And it happened all on its own. No drugs, no help, nothing! They were thrilled, and so were we.
Hannah Marie came into the world a happy and healthy little girl. She is darling and her parents are thrilled to finally have her here. I know they will make good parents and can tell that they love her with all their hearts!
I'm so glad that we were able to make it to the blessing. Her dad gave her a beautiful blessing and the spirit was so strong during the meeting. She was a perfect angel the entire time. These little babies that Heavenly Father puts in our care are so precious and dear. I thank him every day for the children he has given me, and I'm sure Hannahs' parents do the same.

Discovery Center of Idaho
It is a huge center with different rooms focusing on different things. They had areas about weather, electricity, water, physics, gravity, and lots of other fun and interesting things. We spent a long time there. The kids all had a blast. It was a fun way for the kids to learn about different things that they are surrounded by every day.
T's favorite thing had to do with electricity. There was a metal hand on a table attached to a bunch of different wires. When you put your hand against the metal one and turned a knob, you would get a small shock. Then, he discovered that if you licked your fingers, the shock would be stronger. He called each of us over so that he could shock us. He thought it was hilarious.
Saturday night we went out to dinner to Johnny Carino's and left the kids at home. I was a little nervous about this, but it all worked out great. They had fun being alone and everyone got along for the most part. For our appetizer we got Fire Sticks and they were so yummy. It was a tomato tortilla filled with chicken, bacon, sausage, cheeses, and I'm sure some other stuff. Then it was rolled, deep fried, and served with ranch. DELICIOUS!! I'm going to try and find a recipe similar to this, so I can make them myself.
After dinner we went over to my brothers' office so he could burn some ugly red spots off me. He said they are called angiomas. I hate them. He started doing some without numbing the spots, and they hurt. So, I told him I wanted him to numb me. Then, DH walked in and wanted to try to burn off the spots. I thought this was a horrible idea, DH didn't, and my brother was cracking up. So, DH ended up getting to do a few. They thought they were so funny. I told DH that he wouldn't be laughing if he knew what it felt like. So, he did it to himself a couple of times. Men are such dorks. But, now my spots are gone, and I'm glad. My poor brother always has to do some kind of work on me whenever I see him. Luckily he doesn't mind. At least I don't think he does.
I always love spending time with my brother and his family. They are so fun, and we get along really well. I hate that our family is spread out all over the place. It would be so nice if we could all be a little bit closer.

Blogging Drought
This week we had our Enrichment meeting. I think this just might be my eternal calling. We had a harvest dinner and played some games. We ate bbq chicken, salad, rolls, beans, and a wide variety of desserts. After dinner we played some games. We had a bean bag toss, which seemed kind of juvenille, but everyone had a blast. We hung donuts from strings and had a race to see who could eat their donut the fastest without using their hands. I got a good laugh. Then, I taught line dancing. We did the Watermelon Crawl, and Boot Scootin' Boogie. I loved it. I love dancing and wish I had more opportunities to do so. I think all in all it turned out to be a very good night.
Tonight we had our "date night" with some friends. We've been getting together with two other couples for about 2 years now. We alternate who cooks dinner, dessert, and who brings games. Over the summer we didn't get together because everyones' schedule was so busy, but we finally got a chance to do it tonight. It was our turn to cook. I made pelmeny (a yummy yummy Russian dumpling soup), which is a favorite. I love eating it, but hate preparing it. It's not hard, just very very time consuming. We had a great time, and it was nice to spend time with good friends. All of our kids stayed at one house and played together while the adults went to another for dinner. When we went to pick them up, everyone was happy, some kids were sleeping, and the house wasn't a complete disaster! Sounds like success to me!
So, that's just a little of what we've been up to.
