Belize, Cruise Day 4

On day 4 of our cruise we stopped in Belize.  I brought my water camera that day, and haven't gotten the pictures on a CD yet (I need to hurry and do that).  After we met with our guide we loaded up in a van and drove through the city of Belize.  Our guide told us a lot of interesting facts about life in Belize.  I thought he did an excellent job.  After about an hour of driving we arrived at our excursion destination.  We got our life jackets and tubes and were off.  We walked through the rain forest for about half an hour.  It was so green and beautiful.  We learned which leaf we could use as toilet paper if we were in a bind or which leaf to use to scrub our dishes, and to be sure not to get the 2 confused:)  We saw some wild pineapple growing.  We learned which berry to eat if we were "clogged" up.  We were taught how the people used to communicate from one town to the next.  It was very interesting and so much fun.

We finally made our way to the river and tossed our rafts in.  The guides held them there, where we had to turn around and sort of fall backwards and land in our tubes. Then we were hooked together and were off!  We floated through a series of caves which took about an hour and a half.  It was super relaxing.  Once again our guide gave us a lot of information.  It was very fun to learn about the lives of different cultures.  We loved it.  When we got back there was just enough time to drive, change if wanted to, grab a drink and head back to port.  When we got back to the city, we got more information about different buildings.  Then our guide said, "And on the left is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, that's my church."  We then told him that was our church too.  Unfortunately we were almost done with our tour and didn't have much time to talk to him about the church in Belize.  What are the chances of that?  It was awesome.

Dinner once again was lovely.
This is shark langoustine.

Shrimp with Plum Sauce

Good food, good fun, good friends.

Bitter and Blanc
This was a bread pudding with chocolate in the center and then drizzled with vanilla sauce.

April and I had fun trying on hats.
I ended up with a tan one and April got a brown one.
I wish now that I would have also got the turquoise one, they are SO cute!

Our entertainment that night was a magician.  He was pretty good.
I sure wish I could figure out how he does some of that stuff.

Our dinosaur waiting for us with mints and the schedule for the next day.
This was one of my favorite days!
