I was just talking to my sister and we were discussing crazy things from our childhood. I remember my crazy fear of sewer grates. I'm not sure exactly how it started, but I do remember being afraid to walk over them. And then my dear sweet sister would tell me that there were alligators down there. So, I was even more terrified. Now today I still am a little bit afraid to walk over those stupid grates. Even though I'm an adult, and I know there are no alligators down there, I still have a small fear of those darn things.

Too funny! I am TERRIFIED of live fish. I can't help it. I gives me the chills just thinking about it. I think it all happened when my sister sucked (literally) one of our gold fishes eye out with a cleaning tube. Yeah, sisters are great.
That's funny, it's like my fear of vacuuming (sp?). I remember an elementary teacher telling my class that there's no sound in a vacuum, so I interpreted that as a vacuum sucks in sound so I was always worried someone could sneak up on me when I was taking care of this task. Now I figure she was talking about vacuums in space, not the household appliance... but I still get nervous when I'm vacuuming!

I know why you were scared. When Baba Katya was a young married woman in China she was walking home from the market carrying a huge basket of groceries. There in China they had those open sewer holes that led out to the ocean. Well, she didn't see it and being so tiny, she fell right in. Luckily the basket was so large that it tipped over and held her suspended in the hole. A passerby by man pulled her out. lucky for all of us. Love you, Mom

I was afraid of the drains on the side of the curbs that didn't have any grates over them. Really scared. Especially during the winter when they were covered with snow.

I am scared of escalators.
There was a tv movie in the 80's about alligators in the sewer. It freaked me out, too. For months I would look into the toilet before I sat down. True story.

P.S. I noticed on your ticker about your weight loss. Great job girl! What are doing to lose it? Running is all that does it for me :)
I have to admit I always fear that I am going to fall through...... just yesterday, in fact, and all I did was DRIVE over one.
