In Loving Memory

My sweet friend passed away last week. She was such an amazing person and such a fighter. I feel blessed to have known her and will miss her dearly. She was the type of person everyone wanted to be around. She always had a smile and always had such a positive attitude even when things were hard. I remember when they finally decided to amputate her leg, I was talking to her one day and told her how sorry I was. Her response was, "Oh it's no big deal, it's only a leg. It could be much worse, it could be my arm or my eyes." This was her attitude about everything. What a great example. I'm glad that she finally has peace and is without pain, but she will be missed by many.
This is a copy of her obituary.

Janeece Elizabeth Bean
BORN: October 27, 1982
DIED: August 25, 2010
LOCATION: Spanish Fork, UT
Janeece Elizabeth Bean, our beautiful Princess, returned to Heaven on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Janeece was born October 27, 1982, in Richfield, Utah to Jack and Joyce Dean. She grew up in Glenwood, Utah and graduated from Richfield High School. After graduating from high school Janeece went to U.V.U. where she graduated with an Associate’s degree.
Janeece married her eternal companion, Joshua Michael Bean on June 7, 2003 in the Manti LDS Temple. They became the parents of two wonderful children, Alivia 6, and Logan 3. Her greatest joy was being their mother.
She faithfully and lovingly served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Young Women’s program.
Of her many talents and accomplishments, foremost was her love of music. Her angelic voice complimented her skills as a pianist. She used these talents to bring happiness to all around her, and especially to little girls for whom she created magical moments through her Cinderella birthday parties. Even as an adult, she retained a sense of childhood wonder when she became Cinderella for them.
For all of her outward beauty, she was even lovelier on the inside. In the relatively short amount of time she had with us, she lived life to the fullest. She touched the hearts of all who knew her through her valiant final struggle. She never gave up and always kept a positive outlook on life.
Janeece is survived by her husband, her children, her parents, Jack and Joyce Dean of Glenwood, her siblings, Richard (Dawn) of Hooper, Jackie (John) Harward of West Jordan, Joelle (Preston) Parker of Joseph, James of Ogden , and Dusty (Shikara) of Joseph. Also by her parents in law, Greg and Patrice Bean. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Ida Brown, and Harvey and Blanche Dean.
Funeral services will be held on Monday August 30 at the Glenwood, Utah LDS Ward Chapel at 12:00pm. There will be a viewing on August 29, 2010 at the Walker Family Mortuary at Spanish Fork, Utah from 6:00-8:00 pm; with another viewing on August 30, 2010 at the Glenwood, Utah LDS Ward House from 9:30-11:30am.
Josh, Livi, and Logan would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the loving attention given to Janeece by all the family, friends, and medical workers who rallied around her during these difficult times.
In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses can be made at any Mountain America Credit Union under the Janeece Bean Memorial Account.
Even though cancer took her from our lives, it could never take her from our hearts.

J turned 8!!

My baby girl turned 8 yesterday. How is that possible? She has been looking forward to this birthday for a long time. She is so excited to be 8, so that she can be baptized. Even though she is so excited to be 8, she decided to wait until her Grandma and Papa get home from their mission. She only has to wait an extra month so that's not too bad. She was also excited to get her scriptures. It is a family tradition that our kids get scriptures on their 8th birthday. We were driving in the car yesterday and she said, "Mom this is a good birthday!!" It was cute!

Here she is eating some birthday cake and ice cream.
Love, love this girl!

When Anna Was Here

After Baby Reggie was born my sister Anna came with her cute baby Joneaux to visit. I had such a great time visiting with her. I wish they were still here.
I made these berry baguette appetizers/treats. SO delish!!

I LOVE this picture of Anna and Joneaux.

I don't love this picture, but I do love the time I got to spend with Anna!

Joneaux is such a happy boy. He is always smiling and makes everyone around him want to smile too. We all had to have our turn with him, we couldn't get enough of him!

My sweet M! I love this girl more than words can say!

Look at that face, I just want to kiss it over and over again!

Some Things We Did This Summer

We've had a very fun summer. I'm sad to see it come to an end, I'm not ready.
Besides what I've already posted, we've
spent time with family,

took a turn in the dunk tank,

rode bikes in parades,

and walked in parades,

celebrated birthdays,

watched fireworks,

had watermelon eating contests,

went fishing,

acted silly with friends,

babysat these two little cuties,

fed the ducks,

made homemade pizzas with cousins,

had "photo shoots" with friends,
and much much more!!

Blister

We were making hair flowers a while ago and J burnt her hand on the hot glue gun. Her poor little hand was so red and then she got this huge yucky blister. It's finally gone, but now she doesn't even want to come near a hot glue gun for a long time.

A Close Call

Yesterday we were driving home from T's soccer game and the car in front of us suddenly swerved and I was wondering what the heck was going on. I soon found myself also swerving because of a car driving into oncoming traffic. It was a close call. Maybe 10-15 minutes later I heard on the radio that there had been an accident. When I got home I looked it up on the internet and this was the report:

UTAH COUNTY -- A woman is in custody after her car slammed into a Utah Highway Patrol trooper's vehicle on Interstate 15. Troopers say she was driving the wrong direction.

UHP received dozens of phone calls about a wrong-way driver on the freeway in the American Fork-Lehi area around 9 p.m. Wednesday. Troopers say the woman had hit one car and almost hit several others.

A trooper from Utah County saw a white sedan headed north in the southbound lanes. As he spun his cruiser around to catch the car, the sedan slammed into his vehicle head on.

UHP's Sgt. Anthony Carrubba says, "He was able to walk to the ambulance on his own, didn't need to be on a stretcher or anything. (It) sounds like he's going to be OK."

The driver of the wrong-way car was treated at the scene for some bumps and bruises before she was taken into custody. No other injuries were reported.

Troopers believe she was under the influence of prescription medication.
I'm SO glad we made it out of there safely!

What Doesn't Belong?

The other day I came home from running errands and J told me that M had swallowed some magnets. What? I thought only 2 or 3 year olds swallow small objects. But oh no, my sweet girl who is 11, swallowed two. It actually was an accident, but I like to give her a hard time about it. I'd heard that swallowing magnets can be very dangerous because if they find their way back together while inside it could pinch off a part of the intestine or stomach or whatever and cut off the blood supply to that area, causing damage. So, I decided to take her in. Luckily they were already stuck together when she swallowed them but the doctor wanted to do an x-ray just to make sure they weren't stuck in her esophagus or anywhere they shouldn't be. There they were already in her intestines. She should pass them just fine. CRAZY girl! I've been teasing her but she's being a pretty good sport about the whole thing. I'm just glad she's okay!

Bridal Veil Falls

S had so much fun playing with baby Joneaux,
and I'm pretty sure baby Joneaux had fun too!

The girls had their turn with him too!

My crazy boy. This water was FREEZING. But, that didn't stop him. He jumped right in and went all the way under. He is such a water boy. If there's water, he's in it. Cold or hot it doesn't matter, the boy loves to be wet and splashing!

King, Queen, Jack?

This boy of mine is something else. I love him to pieces. He's always climbing something, getting wet, exploring, building, doing all things boy! Yesterday we were eating dinner and talking about our beds. He asked me if my bed was a queen, I said yes. Then he asked, "So, is mine a jack?" This boy is always thinking about things and asking questions and wanting to learn. If there are king-sized beds and queen-sized beds, then why shouldn't there be a jack? I never thought of it that way, but he's right, why isn't there a jack?

Dance

M and her friend from dance put on a "dance" class for some girls. They met for like 6 weeks and then put on a mini recital. They made up several different dances, had the girls tye dye some shirts, made invitations, and put the whole thing on themselves. They did a pretty good job and were very excited to show the parents what they'd accomplished.
M did a solo. She is turning into a very good dancer.
It's been so fun for me to watch her and see her progress in her dancing.

This was J's group. They did a cute little dance. J also did a little solo.
After all the dances, we had refreshments. It was a great success!
