Sewer Grate

I was just talking to my sister and we were discussing crazy things from our childhood. I remember my crazy fear of sewer grates. I'm not sure exactly how it started, but I do remember being afraid to walk over them. And then my dear sweet sister would tell me that there were alligators down there. So, I was even more terrified. Now today I still am a little bit afraid to walk over those stupid grates. Even though I'm an adult, and I know there are no alligators down there, I still have a small fear of those darn things.

Holy Weather

Sunday: Windy day, but it was a warm wind and so it melted alot of our snow.
Monday: Horrible. It was so so super windy and snowy. It wasn't a soft fluffy snow either. It was a pain-in-the-neck-to-go-outside-hit-you-in-the-face-hard-little-balls type of snow. In fact, when I dropped J off at school she went to shut the door and didn't get it quite shut when a gust of wind came and flung the door open, with her still holding onto it, thus throwing her to the ground. Needless to say she started crying so I had to jump out, go get her off the ground, shut the door, and then run her into the school. When I got back to my van I noticed that my car was full of those stupid snow balls. Then, it stopped. Ahhhh!
(this is not a blurry picture, this is to try to capture how hard the stupid wind was blowing)
Tuesday: No wind! No snow! That is until about 4:30. Then it snowed and snowed and snowed and snowed. Usually when I take M to dance it takes me about 10 to 15 minutes tops to get her there and to get back home. Yesterday however it took me about 50 minutes. It was hateful.
Wednesday: Apparently we got another good dumping during the night, because we woke up to at least a foot of snow on the ground. The kids were hoping for a snow day, but I don't think we have those here. Right now it's not snowing and the wind isn't blowing! But, before I get too excited I must remind myself that there is more to come. We have severe winter storm watch going on here right now. We are supposed to get another storm tonight, Friday, and Sunday. Oh the joys of Utah weather.

You Might Be a Mormon. . .

This is to all of you that may be a Mormon, that may know a Mormon, that may live in Utah , that may have lived in Utah or have heard about Mormons.

If all your dishes have your name written on them with masking tape...You might be a Mormon.

If you postdate y our checks while shopping on Sunday..................You might be a Mormon.

If you believe Heck is the place for people who do not believe in gosh...You might be a Mormon.

If your Mom was pregnant at your sister's wedding reception...............You might be a Mormon.

If you pray that your food might "nourish and strengthen your body"before eating doughnuts..........You might be a Mormon.

If you think Jell-O is one of the basic food groups......You might be a Mormon.

If at least one of your salad bowls is at a neighbor's house.......You might be a Mormon.

If you've ever written a "Dear-John" to more than two missionaries on the same day............You might be a Mormon.

If you were frustrated when your son "only" got accepted to Harvard......You might be a Mormon.

If you have one kid in diapers and one on a mission..........You might be a Mormon.

If you have never arrived at a meeting on time..............You might be a Mormon.

If you have more wheat stored in your basement than most third world countries....You might be a Mormon.

If you've already got your order in for volume 50 of "The Work and The Glory"...You might be a Mormon.

If you think it is all right to watch football on Sundays as long as a direct descendant of Brigham Young is playing.......You might be a Mormon.

If you have to guess more than five times the name of the child you're disciplining...........You might be Mormon.

If you automatically assume that BYOB means, Bring Your Own Burgers...You might be Mormon.

If you go to a party and someone spikes the punch with Pepsi...You might be a Mormon.

If you arrive to an activity an hour late and are the first person there............You might be a Mormon.

We got this as an email and were cracking up.

Our Dear Prophet

I'm sure most of us have heard by now that our dear prophet passed away yesterday.
What an amazing man he was! I have learned so much from him in the 13 years he was our prophet. While I'm sad that he is no longer with us, I am more happy for him.
He is now with his beloved wife, whom he missed dearly. He lived a wonderful and fulfilling life and will be remembered always!

Zithromax

Last night J was up all night crying and complaining about her ear. She was in serious pain. Nothing seemed to help. We tried ear drops, pain reliever, putting cotton balls in her ear, heating bags, but nothing helped. We rocked her, held her, told her stories, watched T.V. with her, but nothing helped. It was a LONG night. I felt so bad for her, because everything we tried failed to help her. So, today I took her to the Instacare and she has a horrible ear infection. I asked if I could look through the scope. The right ear was gray and transparent, but the left was red, bulging, had fluid build up, and a little bit of blood. The doc gave us a prescription, so hopefully her pain will go away and we can all have a better night.

Sugar Cookies

I made sugar cookies yesterday, and today we decided to decorate them. I know it's a little early for Valentine cookies, but we like to get a head start. I made some yummy cream cheese frosting, put four knives in the bowl, set out sprinkles, writing frosting, and let them have a go at it. They had a lot of fun and it was fun for me to watch their little creative minds go to work. The boys lasted for a little bit and then the girls and I finished up the rest. Afterwards we put some on plates and delivered some to dad at work and some to Aunt Andrea at her work!

I Did Win The Spelling Bee in 5th Grade Afterall!

Car Show

DH went to a car show with a friend. They had a lot of fun! Must be a guy thing, cause I don't know how much fun I would have looking at cars. I guess I might enjoy it for about 10 minutes, and then I would be ready to go. Both my boys liked looking at the pictures that DH brought home. Their favorite was "Bumblebee" from Transformers!

Remembering Christmas Morning

Since I didn't have a working computer to post any Christmas pictures, here is a fun one of the kids. Christmas morning was a big success! Mom and Dad were here from Texas and my sister Andrea stayed the night too! It was a fun day other than the fact that Mom was sick. I can't believe Christmas came and left so quickly and that now January is almost over. Where does the time go?

Family Home Evening

I love having FHE. It is something that we are not always good at doing, but we are trying. The kids love it too! It is a perfect time to be with family, to learn,
and to create special bonds. Sometimes we have FHE with friends.

We got invited to go to a place called "Jumpin' Jacks". It is a large building filled with these huge blow-up/bounce toys. They were even big enough for DH and I to enjoy! We spent a good hour jumping, sliding, and bouncing! It was a great evening!
One of the slides was so huge. When you start off you aren't even touching the slide, and then once you get down towards the bottom, you finally hit the slide. It was one of the favorites!!

Jammies

I know it's way past, but this is us in our new jammies!

I'm Back!!

We finally have a computer!!! I'm so excited. We ordered it a while ago and then when we finally got it and DH went to set it up, he discovered that the LCD was broken. So, we had to pack it up and send it back. It came this afternoon and this time it works! I have A LOT of catching up to do!

December in Review

~Mom and Dad are here from Texas. It's been fun having them here and spending time with them. They originally came for my sister Andreas' graduation and then decided to spend Christmas with us. The kids have enjoyed having them here. Dad spent the first week and half painting. I needed my crown moldings, baseboards, doors, and a few random things painted. Now, it's all done! What a great dad.

~The kids had a lot of fun Christmas programs. J's class did a Christmas sing and it was so cute to see all those little kids singing. M also did a Chirstmas sing.

~I think we've finally survived all the sickness!

~Christmas was nice. The kids had a great time and all were happy with their gifts. We spent the day relaxing and playing with all our new gadgets. DH bought me a beautiful pink sapphire ring. I love it!

~Our 11th Anniversary was on the 27th. We went to a tepanyaki grill for dinner and then went to see "National Treasure: Book of Secrets". Both were wonderful. I loved the movie. 11 years sounds like such a long time, but I would not have wanted to spend it any other way. I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father brought him into my life. He means the world to me and I'm so thankful that I'm his wife.

~The kids have cabin fever big time. I don't know what the deal is, but the boys mostly have been at each other this entire break. It's driving me crazy. T has developed quite the little attitude. It's very frustrating.

~The weather is chilly. It was 13 degrees last night.

~We spent New Years at some friends' house. We ate and played games, while the kids ran amuck. It was fun for all. Corbin spent New Years with us as well. Now, it's 10:00 and most people are still in bed. We've been staying up very late every night so everyone is probably beat.

~So, 2008 is here. Wow! Time sure flies. It's crazy. The kids go back to school tomorrow, which means that life gets back to normal. At least as normal as my life is. I'm still without my own computer. I've been lucky to be able to use my moms', but she'll be leaving in a week, and then I'll be without. What will I do?
